Complaints/Nuisances:
Routine investigation in food, sewage, solid waste, insect/rodent
control, and other related matters to ensure compliance with all applicable
rules and regulations. Complaints not within the jurisdiction of the
program are referred to appropriate agencies for resolution.
Consultation and Information Services:
Provides a variety of
educational opportunities for community and professional groups.
Consultation provided as needed.
Food and Lodging:
Conducts inspections in accordance with
North Carolina Sanitation Rules and Regulations. Educational and
instructional programs provided for food service personnel and county
residents. Fee based consultation and plan review provided.
Lead Abatement:
Conducts investigations upon determination of a
child's elevated blood lead level, or by request of the Division of Child
Development. Educational information on lead poisoning prevention and
abatement measures available.
Pool Permits:
Permits and inspects public swimming pools in
accordance with North Carolina Rules and Regulations. Fee based
consultation and plan review provided.
Onsite Wastewater:
Provides permits and approvals in accordance
with North Carolina Sewage Disposal Rules. Permits are required
for new construction, repairs of failing systems, and approvals of existing
systems in obtaining a building permit. Appropriate permits must be
obtained and applicable fees paid prior to construction or repair of any
on-site system.
Private Drinking Water Wells:
Provides permits and approvals in
accordance with North Carolina Private Drinking Water Well Rules.
Permits are required for new wells, repairs of existing wells, and well
abandonments. Appropriate permits must be obtained and applicable fees
paid prior to construction, repair, or abandonment of any private drinking
water well.
Tattoo Artists and Parlors:
Under North Carolina Law, tattoo
artist and parlors are required to be permitted and inspected.
